2023 Canadian TCSL Conference & AGM
April 29th – 30th, 2023
Venue: 3200 W 41st Ave, Vancouver, BC (Crofton House School)
The Canadian TCSL Association is inviting abstract submissions to the 2023 Canadian Teaching Chinese as a Second Language International Conference, to be held on April 29th – 30th, 2023. This much anticipated in-person conference will be held in the conveniently located beautiful campus of Crofton House School in Vancouver. The conference warmly welcomes everyone across Canada and around the world to participate when cherry trees are in full bloom.
The 2023 conference marks the 22nd conference organized by the Association. We welcome submissions to discuss the latest practices and research on online, in-person, and blended instruction of the teaching and learning of the Chinese language, literature, and culture. Selected conference papers will be published in the Canadian Teaching Chinese as a Second Language Journal, which is available online to the public.
The abstract submissions include two formats: presentations and teaching swap workshops. Please specify clearly in the email subject for which format your abstract is intended.
Presentation Abstracts: Each presentation is 20 minutes long, followed by a 5-minute Q & A session. Submissions are encouraged, but not limited, to focus on the following areas:
1. Online and/or face-to-face teaching and learning
2. Flipped and/or blended classes
3. Assessment in student learning
4. Future teaching mode(s) and content
Workshop Abstracts: The workshops are composed of several mini talks of 6-to-8 minutes each. During the workshop, each presenter will share one teaching activity or technique that they have found particularly effective in their classes. This is a teaching swap workshop. All information shared could be either original or something you have adapted to your teaching. Your sharing is practical, feasible, inspirational, and easy for participants to adapt to their own teaching.
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
